How to link PAN and Aadhaar for free (PAN allotted on or after 1 July 2017)

 

Hello friends, in this article we are discussing how to link PAN and Aadhaar for free. We know that in today’s time Pan and Aadhaar link is most important. The last date for Pan and Aadhaar link is 30 June 2023. For which you have to pay a penalty of rupees 1000.

 

But for some PAN numbers you don’t need to pay any penalty. Those PAN number which are allotted on or after 1 July 2023 can be link with Aadhaar for free. Income tax department don’t take any charges for these PAN numbers on behalf of linking with Aadhaar.

 

How to link PAN and Aadhaar for free (PAN allotted on or after 1 July 2017):

The linking PAN and Aadhaar for free is the same process as you link the PAN and Aadhaar with paying penalty. But when you go to link PAN and Aadhaar for free the notification of paying penalty will also be shown. But you have to proceed forward. When you go forward it will show that you can be link your PAN with Aaadhaar for free. Now follow the following steps.

 

STEP 1: Go to the website https://incometax.gov.in and open the home page of the website.

 

STEP 2: Now you are on the home page of the e-filing income tax website. In this page you will some options to the left side of the page under the quick links. You will find an option ‘Link Aadhaar’ among the options. Click on this option.

 

STEP 3: Now you will be redirected to Link Aadhaar page. In this page on the top the notification about penalty will be shown. You can also know about the payment of penalty process by clicking on ‘Click here for payment related information’. But as you PAN is allotted after 1 July 2017 you don’t need to pay anything.

 

Scroll down the page, enter your PAN and Aadhaar number and click on ‘Validate’ option.

 

STEP 4: A pop up message will be displayed. In this message it says ‘As you PAN is allotted as on or after 1 July 2017, no penalty is charged for PAN Aadhaar linking’. Now click on ‘continue’ button.

 

STEP 5: In this page you are asked to enter your name as on Aadhaar card, enter your mobile number. Trick on the box before ‘I have only year of birth on Aadhaar card’ if your year of birth is mentions on Aadhaar card instead of date of birth. Otherwise don’t trick on this box.

 

Then click on the box before ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’ and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.

 

STEP 6: In this step an OTP will be received on your registered mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter the OTP and ‘submit’. You PAN and Aadhaar linking process is completed.

 

Check the PAN Aadhaar linking status after 48 hours. This is the process how to link PAN and Aadhaar for free for the PAN allotted on or after 1 July 2017.
