Whether you are applying for a visa, planning international travel, or managing your tax filings, an official SBI Balance Certificate is a vital document. It serves as formal proof of your account standing at a specific point in time.
Fortunately, State Bank of India customers no longer need to visit a branch to obtain this. You can download it in minutes using the YONO SBI app.
Why Do You Need an SBI Balance Certificate?
A balance certificate is often more formal than a standard mini-statement. It is frequently required for:
Visa Applications: To prove financial stability to foreign embassies.
Airport Verification: Some countries require proof of funds upon arrival.
Tax Documentation: For auditors or tax-related queries.
Loan Applications: As part of the initial financial screening.
Steps to Download Your Balance Certificate via YONO SBI
Follow these eight simple steps to get your certificate instantly:
Step 1: Login
Open the YONO SBI app on your smartphone and log in using your MPIN or Internet Banking credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to Services
Once you are on the main dashboard, scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Locate and click on the Service Request or Services section. Under this menu, select the Tax Related option.
Step 3: Select Balance Certificate
On the "Tax Related" page, you will see several options like TDS Inquiry or Interest Certificate. Click on the link specifically labeled Balance Certificate.
Step 4: Confirm the Date
By default, the app will select the current date for the certificate. Review the details and click the Proceed button.
Step 5: Generate the Document
A message will appear stating, "Your Balance Certificate has been generated successfully." You will then see a Download icon or link. Click it to save the file to your device.
Step 6: Confirmation
Once clicked, a pop-up will confirm: "Document downloaded successfully." The file is now saved in your phone’s internal storage (usually in the 'Downloads' folder).
Step 7: Open the PDF (Password Protection)
For security reasons, the PDF is encrypted. To open it, you must enter a specific password combination.
The Password Format: The password consists of the first five characters of your first name (in CAPITAL letters) followed by your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format.
Example: If your name is Ravi Kumar and your Date of Birth is 23/11/2003:
First 4 letters of name (since "Ravi" is only 4 letters): RAVI
Date of Birth: 23112003
Full Password: RAVI23112003
