How to update mobile number in driving licence online?

Many times people who have a driving licence want to update or change their mobile number online. In such conditions they can update their mobile number. But if you update mobile number on driving licence online then you can update it through Aadhaar number and the updated mobile number should be linked with Aadhaar.

How to update mobile number in driving licence online:

We need to go through Aadhaar authentication to update the mobile number in driving licence. Hence you should have the Aadhaar linked mobile number and Aadhaar number handy. If you have both then follow the following steps.

 

STEP 1: Go to the website https://parivahan.gov.in website and open the home page of the website.

 

STEP 2: On the upper bar of the page you will ‘Online Services’ tab. Place the cursor on it. A list of various links will be appeared on the screen. Click on ‘Driving Licence Related services’ out of them.

 

STEP 3: You will be redirected to another page. On this page you have to select your state. Select your state name from the drop down menu.

 

STEP 4: As you select your state on the above step a pop up window will be appeared telling about driving licence related services. Close this window and you will be on the driving licence related service page.

 

On this page you will see many options relating to driving licence. On the upper bar of the page you will see a tab ‘others’. Place your cursor on it.

 

STEP 5: As you place the cursor on ‘Others’ tab, a list of some options will be appeared on the screen. Click on the option ‘Update mobile number’ as show on the following image.

 

STEP 6: A new page will appear. In this page you need to select Aadhaar number or Aadhaar virtual Id to do authentication. Select Aadhaar here, then enter your Aadhaar number and click on ‘Get OTP’.

 

An OTP will be received on the Aadhaar linked mobile number. Enter the OTP and select the boxes before the Aadhaar related consents and click on ‘authenticate’ button.

 

STEP 7: Details of your name and address will be displayed on the screen. Click on ‘proceed’ button on this page.

 

STEP 8: On this step you need to select criteria. Select the criteria as driving licence from the menu.

 

As you select the criteria, you will be asked to enter your driving licence issuing date, driving licence number and date of birth. Here you will see the date of birth is already filled up from Aadhaar database. Enter the asked details and click on ‘Submit’.

 

STEP 9: Licence holder’s name, related person’s name, licence number, birth date and existing mobile number (if any) will be appeared on the screen. Click on ‘Proceed’ button on this page.

 

STEP 10: Enter your new mobile number, confirm mobile number and a reason behind the update of mobile number. Keep in mind that the mobile number should be the same with the mobile number linked with Aadhaar number. Finally click on ‘Proceed’.

 

STEP 11: An OTP will be received on your mobile number. Enter the OTP on this page and click on ‘Verify’.

 

OTP will be successfully verified. Click on the ‘proceed’ button here.

 

STEP 12: Your mobile number will be successfully linked with your driving licence. The message will be displayed on the screen.
